Course Overview

The podcast industry is continuing to evolve far past the expectations of anyone that is in the media today. Less than 20 years ago, the creation of a podcast was foreign to any radio listener, let alone a broadcaster.  Now, there are literally millions of podcasts out there.  Anyone now with podcast experience has opportunities in the job market that companies are specifically looking for.

This course consists of learning how to make a podcast that will engage listeners. From figuring out how to be unique in a crowded space to gaining experience in speaking into a microphone. Hear from guest speakers who have had success in producing and hosting podcasts. During the two weeks, students will conceive, evolve, host, edit, and publish their own podcasts, which will be available on Apple, Spotify, and other podcast platforms. They will learn how to handle being a co-host on a show, and how to book and interview a potential guest, all while covering the topics you enjoy!

All students who successfully complete the course will receive a Certificate of Completion and have the opportunity to request a Syracuse University noncredit transcript.
