2024 Summer College – On Campus Costs
The cost for Summer College – On Campus credit and noncredit courses vary based on credit hour and duration. Please refer to the course’s individual description page for the cost and additional supply purchases. Discounts and scholarships are available. Rates for are all-inclusive and include the following:
- Tuition (for credit-bearing courses)
- Program fees
- Room (in a Syracuse University residence hall)
- Board (includes meal plan for residential and commuter students)
- Studio/lab fees
- Activity fees
Our rates also include the cost to attend Summer College – On Campus activities.
There is a nonrefundable $65 application fee that covers the cost of application processing.

Make a Payment
Need to make a payment to Summer College – On Campus? Log in with the student’s SUID number (found on the top right corner of their admit letter) and birthdate to the payment portal below.
If you would like to pay by check, EBT, or other payment method, please contact the Office of Pre-College Programs.
Payment Deadline
A $500 non-refundable deposit is required one week after your acceptance letter is received. This deposit is required per course. For example, if you are enrolling in two courses, $1,000 deposit is required. This deposit is deducted from your final balance.

Scholarships
Merit-Based Scholarship
The Office of Pre-College Programs offers merit-based scholarships for qualifying students. These scholarships are available to all students (including international students) and are applicable to all Summer College courses. Note these are partial scholarships, and full scholarships are not available. If the student is eligible for multiple scholarships and/or discounts, they will be deemed eligible for the singular form that provides the greatest benefit. Scholarships and discounts cannot be combined. The deadline for applying for a merit-based scholarship is March 1, 2024. To view additional dates and deadlines, click here.
The maximum Merit-Based Scholarship awards are as follows:
- 1-Week, Noncredit Courses: $650
- 2-Week, Noncredit Courses: $1,250
- 2-Week, 3-Credit Courses: $1,500
- 3-Week, Noncredit Courses: $1,750
- 3-Week, 3-Credit Courses: $2,000
- 4-Week, Noncredit Courses: $2,250
- 4-Week, 3-Credit Courses: $2,500
- 6-Week, 6-Credit Courses: $4,000
How to Apply for a Merit-Based Scholarship
To apply for a merit-based scholarship, students must complete the additional essay located within the Scholarship and Discounts section of the Summer College application. Each application is evaluated independently.
Additional Summer College Scholarship Opportunities:
The Office of Pre-College Programs partners with multiple schools and colleges at Syracuse University to offer a limited number of merit-based scholarships. These scholarships are available to all students (including international students) and are applicable to all summer college courses. There is the opportunity for students who are interested in specific fields of study to apply for awards. Interested students should complete the additional merit essay on their application and write about the contribution they will make to their selected course. The merit scholarship deadline is March 1, but funds are awarded on a rolling basis and may therefore be fully expended prior to that date so early application submission is encouraged.
- S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication Scholarships Students could be awarded up to $1,000 in merit scholarship funding. We are partnering with Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication to support their diversity and inclusion initiatives with a limited number of scholarships reserved for high achieving students with considerable financial need to enroll in any of our summer college courses offered out of the Newhouse School (see the chart below). This opportunity is for students with interests in advertising, communication, broadcast and digital journalism, television and radio production, and related fields.

- It Girls: Empowering Women in Technology Scholarships
Students interested in information technology could be awarded a 50% or 100% scholarship to attend this course. We are partnering with Syracuse University’s iSchool to support their diversity and inclusion initiatives with multiple 50% and 100% scholarships reserved primarily for female-identifying students to support their enrollment in the It Girls: Empowering Women in Technology course. This opportunity is for students with interests in information management and technology, data analytics and security and related fields.
- Additional scholarship funding for iSchool and Engineering & Computer Science Summer College courses.
Thanks to the generosity of a private donor, Summer College has additional scholarship funding to support high achieving students with considerable financial need to enroll in courses offered by the iSchool and the College of Engineering & Computer Science. Financial Assistance
The Office of Pre-College Programs offers partial need-based assistance for qualifying Summer College students. Full scholarships are not offered. Financial assistance may not be combined with other forms of aid, discounts, or scholarship. The deadline for applying for a financial assistance scholarship is March 1, 2024. Applying for Financial Assistance
Financial assistance is only available to students who are US citizens and permanent residents, and whose family has an adjusted gross income of $100,000 or less. Financial assistance is provided on a first-come, first-served basis as funds are limited. In order to be considered, students must submit their family’s most recent tax returns with their Summer College application.
Discounts
Students may qualify for one of the discounts below. Discounts and scholarship cannot be combined. If the student is eligible for multiple discounts or financial awards, s/he will be deemed eligible for the singular form of financial assistance that provides the greatest benefit to the student. There is no deadline to be eligible for a discount. To apply for a discount, students will answer supplementary questions in the Summer College – On Campus application. The admissions committee will determine if the student is eligible for one (or more) of the below discounts:
Multi-Course and Sibling Discounts
To qualify, students must either enroll in more than one Summer College course in 2024 or have a sibling attending a Summer College course in 2024. This discount provides a 20% discount on tuition, program, and technology fees for each course enrolled.
Syracuse Legacy Alumni Discount
To qualify, the student must be one of the following: a child, grandchild, or great-grandchild of a Syracuse University Alumni, a sibling of a student currently enrolled at Syracuse University, a former pre-college student, or a current or past SUPA (Syracuse University Project Advance) student. This discount provides a 20% discount on tuition, program, and technology fees for each course enrolled.
Syracuse University Employee Discount
To qualify, the student must be a child or dependent of a current Syracuse University employee. This discount has no association with the general dependent tuition options offered by Syracuse University and is offered independently by The Office of Pre-College Programs. This discount provides a 20% discount on tuition, program, and technology fees for each course enrolled.
Central New York Resident Discount
To qualify, students must be residents of Onondaga County, New York or the immediate surrounding counties (Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Oneida, and Oswego) and live on campus for the duration of the course as a residential student. Commuter students are not eligible for this discount. This discount provides a 20% discount on tuition, program, and technology fees for each course enrolled.
Veteran and Military Discount
Syracuse University is proud to have a tradition of service to United States veteran and military families. Summer College will continue this tradition by offering children and grandchildren of veterans or active service members a discount. Documentation is required to qualify for this 50% discount on tuition, program, and technology fees for each course enrolled.
Native American and Indigenous Student Discount
Our campus is just minutes from the heart of Haudenosaunee territory, and we are committed to empowering and supporting Indigenous students of any tribe or nation. Summer College will continue this tradition by offering indigenous students from any tribe or nation a discount. Documentation is required to qualify for this discount. This discount provides a 50% discount on tuition, program, and technology fees for each course enrolled.
How to Qualify for a Discount
To qualify for any award above, applicants will be instructed to provide the necessary information as part Scholarship and Discounts section of the online application. Discounts and scholarships cannot be combined. The Office of Pre-College Programs will offer the award that provides the maximum benefit to the student.

Aid is awarded on a first-come, first served basis. Financial Assistance and Merit Based Scholarships are available as noted above. Students complete the application within the Aid portion of the online Slideroom application.
International students are eligible for various Syracuse University Summer College – On Campus scholarships and discounts. Additionally, international students are encouraged to reach out to their local embassies to determine if there are any scholarships or aid available.
